Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain praises 'mature' Calum Chambers

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain praises Arsenal teammate Calum Chambers for his 'mature' performance during Saturday's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has praised Calum Chambers for his 'mature' performance during Saturday's win over Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old summer signing deputised for the absent Per Mertesacker as the Gunners earned a late victory at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Despite being such a young age, Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that Chambers is already proving to be a key part of the Arsenal squad.

"Calum Chambers at the back, at a young age, is playing with so much maturity. To make a big move to a team like Arsenal and to fill in for someone like Per Mertesacker as well as he has done is credit to him," he told the club's official website.

Arsenal return to action on Tuesday night when they face Besiktas in Turkey for the first leg of their Champions League playoff.
