Arsene Wenger: 'FA Cup can help Arsenal'

Arsene Wenger believes that the FA Cup can help Arsenal find their form in the Premier League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that the FA Cup can help his team rediscover their form in the Premier League.

The Gunners, who face holders Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals this weekend, saw their hopes of Champions League qualification suffer a blow on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat at Everton.

However, Wenger is confident that reaching the final of the cup can bring the confidence back to his players for the remaining few weeks of the season.

"Once you are in the semi-final you want to go through to the final," he told the club's official website. "To play in a different competition will help us find confidence back and focus on our next game.

"We have to acknowledge that we must go back to basics and come in much stronger in the challenges, much stronger in the way we win the ball back, before we start winning games."

Arsenal last won the FA Cup back in 2005 when they beat Manchester United on penalties.
