Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Per Mertesacker will be fit for Wednesday's Champions League trip to Marseille.

The German defender was forced to miss Saturday's 3-1 win at Sunderland in the Premier League.

"There is good news," Wenger told the club's official website. "Mertesacker will be available again after illness."

Meanwhile, striker Olivier Giroud remains a doubt for the Gunners with a knee problem.
