Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath "50-50" for World Cup quarter-final against South Africa

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews says that Rangana Herath has a "50-50" chance of playing against South Africa in their World Cup quarter-final.

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has revealed that spinner Rangana Herath has a "50-50" chance of playing in Wednesday's World Cup quarter-final against South Africa.

The 36-year-old has not played since damaging a finger on his left hand during Sri Lanka's nine-wicket win over England on March 1.

"He's still 50-50," Herath told reporters. "He hasn't had a bowl yet. The physio has to have a look at him once again today. If he bowls at practice today he'll be in contention for selection. If not, he won't be playing."

Sri Lanka and South Africa will play their last-eight clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
