Michael Vaughan believes that Graeme Swann's claims about the England squad will have an "impact" on some of the players.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has hit back at Graeme Swann's claims that Kevin Pietersen was not a 'natural leader' during his reign as skipper.

The Nottinghamshire bowler criticised his England teammate in his new memoirs, and Vaughan believes that his words may have an "impact" on the rest of the squad.

"I can understand Swanny thinking that Kevin is not a natural leader because of the type of person he is, but he wasn't really given a chance," The Mirror quotes Vaughan as saying.

"It will probably linger in Kevin's mind for the rest of his career that he never had a fair crack at the England captaincy and I don't know what impact Swann's book has had in the dressing room, but I'm sure it's had some effect.

"I've never played in a side where one of your team-mates has made comments about a current colleague in his book like that."

Meanwhile, England prepare to improve on their 2-0 deficit in the third one-day international against India tomorrow.
