Paddy Barnes: "Pressure is for cowards"

Northern Ireland boxer Paddy Barnes says that "pressure is for cowards".

Northern Ireland boxer Paddy Barnes has claimed that "pressure is for cowards".

Light-flyweight Barnes booked his spot in the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday after overcoming Charles Keama in comfortable fashion.

"Pressure is for cowards," Barnes told Sports Mole when questioned if he feels the pressure of being the favourite for the title.

Barnes tweeted earlier in the day that he would wear a thong during the fight if he received over five million retweets on the social networking site, but the Northern Irishman did not hit that number.

"I only got 2,500!" Barnes responded, when questioned about the tweet.

Barnes won gold in Delhi four years ago and also took bronze at the 2012 Olympics.
