Adam Gemili expects fellow British sprinters to deliver success

Adam Gemili believes that British sprinters can enjoy an extended period of success following his display at the Commonwealth Games.

Adam Gemili has claimed that British sprinting is on the rise once again following his silver medal in the 100m at the Commonwealth Games.

The 20-year-old collected his first senior medal by finishing behind Kemar Bailey-Cole on Monday night, but he is certain that there is much more to come from the current crop of British sprinters.

"Forty-eight hours ago I was just a sprinter in GB and there's so many of us doing well this year, but now I'm helping to push these guys and we're all going to hopefully push each other," Gemili told reporters.

"Eventually we're going to see a lot more Brits in finals at championships."

Gemili's claims come after Olympic medallist Darren Campbell suggested that British sprinters should be embarrassed by the former footballer's success.
