Rok Perko, Brice Roger ruled out of downhill skiing event

Duo out of downhill event

Two competitors have pulled out of the men's Olympic downhill skiing event in Sochi due to injury.

Rok Perko of Slovenia and French skier Brice Roger, who were two of the first three starters in the last training run, sustained their respective injuries on Saturday.

Slovenian alpine director, Dusan Blazic, has complained that the people treating Perko at a clinic in the athletes' village only spoke Russian.

"They are very good doctors, but it's difficult to understand what they are saying," Blazic is quoted as saying by The AP.

"There was no problem with the course. It's a mistake and that is how it happens sometimes."

Ten of the 55 starters on Saturday failed to finish the course.
