Serena Williams fit to defend US Open title after recovering from virus

Serena Williams says that she is ready to defend her US Open title after recovering from the virus that ended her Wimbledon challenge.

Serena Williams has said that she is fit and ready to defend her US Open title.

The world number one is now over the virus that forced her to pull out of a doubles match with sister Venus at Wimbledon.

"I feel very good," the American, 32, told reporters. "I feel very happy to be here, so it's good."

The US Open will begin on August 25 in New York City.
