Rain stops play at the US Open

The first rain stoppage of this year's US Open is currently taking place.

Major showers have descended upon New York and as a result all ongoing matches have been suspended.

The delay is expected to alter the schedule, with Great Britain's number one Andy Murray now likely to be on the Arthur Ashe Court much later than 6pm.

One player that missed the rain was defending women's champion Samantha Stosur, who ran out a 6-1 6-1 winner over Petra Martic earlier today.
