Donald Young feeding off home crowd

Donald Young has admitted that the home crowd at the US Open is a huge advantage following his first-round win at Flushing Meadows.

The 26-year-old managed to come from two sets down to seal victory over Gilles Simon on Tuesday.

"I give all of the credit to [the crowd]," Young told reporters. "Without those guys, if I was in France or somewhere else, some random place around the world, I'm pretty sure I would have lost the match.

"To look at those people and they keep giving you energy, you can't let them down. It was an awesome feeling and I'm happy I was able to come through for myself, first of all, and for the fans, as well."

Young will face Britain's Aljaz Bedene in the second round on Thursday.
