Bryan brothers edge past Nikolay Davydenko, Mikhail Youzhny

Top seeds the Bryan brothers have reached the quarter-finals of the men's doubles thanks to a hard-fought victory over Russia's Nikolay Davydenko and Mikhail Youzhny.

With both teams dropping a service game each in the opening set, the American duo came out 8-6 winners after an up-and-down tie-break.

Both pairings were again evenly matched in the second, but the brothers stormed the tie-break 7-1 to progress through to the last eight.

They will now face the Israeli team of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram with a semi-final place at stake.
