Great Britain's Peter Norfolk knocked out of men's wheelchair tennis singles

Great Britain's flag bearer Peter Norfolk is out of the men's wheelchair tennis singles after losing two sets to one to Israel's Shraga Weinberg.

Great Britain's flag bearer Peter Norfolk will not be able to defend his wheelchair tennis singles title after losing 5-7 6-3 0-6 to Israel's Shraga Weinberg.

The 51-year-old started off poorly in the clash and struggled to hold his serve as he relinquished the opening set as Weinberg got a vital late break.

Despite a shaky start, Norfolk tried to fight back by regaining composure and snatching a break, which allowed him to push on and force through a deciding set.

The Brit, who won gold in Beijing and Athens, lost his first service game and failed to come back into the match as Weinberg cruised to a 6-0 lead and a place in the semi-finals.

Despite missing out on singles gold, Norfolk still has a chance to claim a medal in the doubles tournament alongside Andy Lapthorne.
