Rafael Nadal "not in condition" to compete at London 2012

Nadal pulls out of Olympics

2008 Olympics gold medalist Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from this summer's Games in London due to fitness concerns.

The 26-year-old has announced that he will not defend his title in England's capital due to not being in the right "condition" to compete.

The former world number one has not played a competitive tennis match since getting knocked out of Wimbledon in round two following a five-set thriller against Lukas Rosol.

The shock defeat was the first time that the Spaniard had not progressed past the second round since the 2005 Championships.
