Marion Bartoli sees off Lauren Davies

Marion Bartoli has crushed American qualifier Lauren Davies in straight sets to reach the third round of the Rogers Cup.

The newly-crowned Wimbledon champion served up a 6-0 bagel in the first set, with Davies having no answer to Bartoli's dominance.

A spirited effort in the second set saw her put three games on the board - and avoid the dreaded double bagel - but the French seventh seed still blasted her way to a 6-3 victory.

She will play either Vavara Lepchenko or Magdalena Rybarikova in the next round.
