Andy Murray walks into Rogers Cup quarter-finals as Richard Gasquet withdraws

Andy Murray walks into the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup without hitting a ball in the third round after Richard Gasquet withdraws with abdominal strain.

Andy Murray has moved into the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup without having to compete in a third-round tie due to Richard Gasquet's withdrawal.

The Scotsman, who is competing in his first tournament since failing to defend his Wimbledon crown, was scheduled to go up against the Frenchman in Toronto.

However, tournament organisers confirmed yesterday that Gasquet has been forced to pull out because of abdominal strain.

Murray will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final eight after the Frenchman shocked Novak Djokovic 6-2 6-2 in the third round last night.
