Andy Murray focused on defending Olympic title

Three-time Major winner Andy Murray says that he is looking forward to trying to defend his Olympic title in Rio de Janeiro next month.

Andy Murray has suggested that he is fully focused on defending his Olympic crown when the tournament gets underway in Rio de Janeiro next month.

The world number two lost in the opening round on his Olympic debut in 2008 but he returned four years later to storm to gold with victories over Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer respectively.

There have been a number of concerns over the Zika virus and some of the venues in Brazil, but Murray has said that he is looking forward to taking part at the Games for the third time.

The 29-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Rio should be great. At the Olympics, I've had two amazing experiences. In Beijing, the tennis side wasn't great but I loved it there, met a lot of amazing athletes and went to the Opening Ceremony.

"I also learnt a lot there because I was there to win tennis matches and I was there doing everything but concentrating on winning tennis matches.

"Here in London though, winning gold was one of the best experiences of my tennis career and I will give it my best shot in Rio to win another medal."

On Sunday, Murray won his third Major title by beating Milos Raonic in the Wimbledon final.
