Roberta Vinci has advanced into the quarter-finals of the Paris Open after a 6-3 1-6 6-3 victory over Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
Vinci started the match the stronger, breaking twice on her way to the first set. Mattek-Sands responded well, however, taking the second set 6-1 in storming fashion.
Vinci found her form in the third set, hitting a number of powerful ground strokes on her way to securing the match.
Vinci has six WTA titles to her name.
