Viktor Troicki overcomes Milos Raonic in Beijing

Viktor Troicki beats Milos Raonic in straight sets to reach the second round of the China Open in Beijing.

Fifth seed Milos Raonic exited the China Open in the first round earlier today thanks to a 6-4 6-4 defeat at the hands of Viktor Troicki.

Raonic had won the two previous meetings between the players, but he fell a set behind when world number 22 Troicki claimed a break of serve in the ninth game.

It was a similar story in the second set as the Serbian broke again for a 5-4 lead, although on this occasion he managed to do so from 40-0 down.

Troicki will now take on either Adrian Mannarino or Lu Yen-Hsun for a place in round three of the competition.
