Serena Williams wins Brisbane International

Serena Williams has defeated Victoria Azarenka in straight sets to win the Brisbane International.

The world number one got the better of her Belarusian opponent 6-4 7-5 in the final on Saturday to successfully defend the title.

Williams wrapped up the contest in 98 minutes, losing her service twice in the second set before breaking three times to clinch it.

The victory means that the 32-year-old American has won 22 matches in a row.
