Radek Stepanek has beaten number 1 seed Gael Monfils in straight sets to claim the Legg Mason Classic in Washington.
The Czech was the quickest out of the traps and claimed the first set 6-4 after two rain delays disrupted proceedings.
Stepanek broke the Frenchman’s serve instantly in the second before winning the set 6-4, taking him from 64th in the ATP rankings into the top 30.
At 32-years-old, Stepanek is the oldest player in the top 100 and wins the $1.4m (£850,000) prize.
