Andy Murray beaten by Grigor Dimitrov

Murray beaten by Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov has come from a set down to beat Andy Murray and reach the final in a thrilling encounter at the Mexico Open.

The Wimbledon champion was beaten 4-6 7-6 7-6 by the Bulgarian after almost three hours of play.

After a tight start, Murray broke his opponent at 4-4 in the opening set and served out for a one-set lead.

Dimitrov, came back strongly, matching the Scot's work rate and coming up with some effective ground strokes in the second set. He then raced away in the tie-break before being pegged back, but was able to see it out in the end.

The final set saw both players produce their best tennis and it looked like Murray would be out when he was broken at 4-4 but again the match swung as he broke back and forced another tie-break.

This time Dimitrov hardly gave his opponent a sniff and dominated from the beginning of the tie-break to reach Sunday's final where he will play Kevin Anderson.
