Thomas Enqvist defeats Mark Philippoussis in AEGON Masters

Thomas Enqvist continues on his winning run be defeating Mark Philippoussis 7-6(8) 4-6 10-8 at the Royal Albert Hall in the AEGON Masters.

Thomas Enqvist has nabbed his second win in the AEGON Masters in London following a close match against Mark Philippoussis.

The 37-year-old, who defeated holder Goran Ivanisevic yesterday, was closely matched with his Australian opponent, with the majority of games going on serve.

Neither competitor backed down and the first set was settled with a tie-break which resulted in favour of the Swede with 7-6(8).

Philippoussis came back into the match in the second set and managed to push the contest to a champions tie-break after levelling with 6-4.

While the 35-year-old Aussie held his own in the decisive tie-break, Enqvist just edged it on 10-8.
