Defending champion Goran Ivanisevic loses to Thomas Enqvist

Result: Ivanisevic slumps to defeat

Defending AEGON Masters champion Goran Ivanisevic has lost his first clash at the Royal Albert Hall to former Swedish professional Thomas Enqvist.

The former Wimbledon champion had a positive start to the match and used his powerful serve to his advantage by taking the first set 6-4.

Despite taking the lead, the Croatian struggled with a suspected groin problem and was forced to relinquish the second set to his opponent Enqvist by 6-2, taking the match to a champions tie-break.

The defending champion continued to slip in form and slumped to defeat at the hands of the Swedish former pro on 10-6 in the tie-break.
