Radwanska wins WTA Championships opener

Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska dropped just five games on her way to winning her opening match of the WTA Championships against Petra Kvitova.

The world number four took advantage of Kvitova's failure to land the majority of her first serves in during the opening set to eventually run out a 6-3 victor.

The second set followed a similar trend, with Radwanska claiming two breaks of Kvitova's serve to secure maximum points.

"I'm very happy with my performance today," she said during her post-match interview. "The first match is always very tough. There was a lot of breaks in this match and her serve is normally her biggest weapon but it wasn't."

The other two players in their group are Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani, who meet later tonight.
