British number three Cameron Norrie registers the biggest win of his career by beating John Isner to reach the Lyon Open semi-finals.

Cameron Norrie has recorded a straight-sets win over John Isner to reach the Lyon Open semi-finals.

The British number three had already ensured that he would move into the world's top 100 by reaching the last eight, but the 7-6 6-4 triumph over Isner on Thursday also represents the biggest victory of the 22-year-old's career.

Only withdrawals had enabled Norrie to play in Lyon this week - rather than being required to go through qualifying for the French Open - but the left-hander has taken full advantage by progressing through to the last four of an ATP Tour event for the first time.

Norrie only broke the big-hitting American's serve on one occasion, but saving four break points behind his own delivery proved key sealing the win in one hour and 25 minutes.

Either Mikhail Kukushkin or Gilles Simon will stand in Norrie's way of a place in the final.
