Li Na progresses at Madrid Open

Li Na knocked number 12 seed Angelique Kerber out of the Madrid Open this afternoon.

The Chinese number one was made to work hard by her German opponent during the opening set.

However, Na claimed a late break of serve to wrap up the a one-set lead with a 7-5 success.

The next set followed a similar trend, with Na requiring just one break of Kerber's service game to record a 7-5 6-4 victory.

Li is currently ranked number eight in the world.
