Ana Ivanovic wins Birmingham title

Ana Ivanovic has won the first grass-court title of her career by beating Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the Aegon Classic final in Birmingham.

Despite being broken in the opening game of the match, the top seed saw off the Czech 6-3 6-2 on Sunday to get her hands on the trophy.

The 26-year-old Serb, who has now won three titles since the start of the year, failed to drop a set during the tournament.

The grass-court season continues on June 23 when Wimbledon gets underway at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
