David Ferrer clinches Qatar Open title

David Ferrer wins the Qatar Open in Doha with a straight-sets victory over Tomas Berdych.

David Ferrer has beaten Tomas Berdych in straight sets to win the final of the Qatar Open in Doha.

The Spaniard saw off the Czech 6-4 7-5 on Saturday to clinch the 22nd ATP title of his career.

Both sets were closely-contested affairs, with world number 10 Ferrer saving three set points in the second before going on to close out the match.


Ferrer will now turn his attention to the Australian Open, which gets underway in Melbourne on January 19.
