Kyle Edmund has progressed through to the second round of the Nottingham Open with a straight-sets win over Lukas Rosol.
Rosol has proven in the past that he is a dangerous player on grass but he was outclassed by the British number three who came through by a 6-4 6-3 scoreline.
After the opening nine games of the contest went with serve, Edmund broke to secure the opening set and he struck early in the second to move closer to an impressive triumph.
Edmund was showing the kind of form that saw him reach the Queen's quarter-finals last week and he had little problem in serving the remainder of the set out for a comfortable win.
However, fellow British representatives James Ward, Brydan Klein and Alexander Ward all bowed out in the opening round on Monday, with James Ward dropping the final five games to suffer a 6-1 3-6 6-4 defeat to world number 60 Malek Jaziri.
Klein went down 7-5 6-4 to qualifier Stephane Robert, while Alexander Ward lost out 7-6 6-7 6-2 to Frank Dancevic.
