Novak Djokovic beats Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets to progress through to the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Novak Djokovic remains on course to win the Dubai Tennis Championships after he defeated Juan Martin del Potro in the semi-finals.

The world number one saw off the challenge of the Argentinian by securing a 6-3 7-6 victory to move into Saturday's final.

Djokovic dropped just five points on his serve as he eased to the opening set against the 24-year-old South American.

Del Potro threatened a comeback in the second set by earning an early break of serve, but Djokovic stormed back to serve for the match.

However, Del Potro broke back and the set went into a tie-break, but a solitary mini-break was enough for Djokovic to claim the win.

The six-time major winner will now play either Roger Federer or Tomas Berdych in the final.
