Guillermo Garcia-Lopez eases past Alexandr Dolgopolov into last eight

Garcia-Lopez eases into last eight

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez has reached the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's after a straight-sets victory over Alexandr Dolgopolov.

The Spaniard broke his Ukrainian opponent in the sixth game of the first set after an unforced error gifted the world number 34 a 4-2 lead.

Garcia-Lopez wrapped up the opening set after a string of double faults saw Dolgopolov broken again.

The Ukrainian looked set to lose in quick time as he trailed 4-2 in the second set, but Dolgopolov was able to force a second-set tie-break.

However, Garcia-Lopez managed to see out a straight-sets win to set up a last-eight clash with big-serving Kevin Anderson, who beat Stanislas Wawrinka in round two.
