James Ward suffers defeat in St Remy Challenger

James Ward's poor run of form continues as he is defeated in straight sets by world number 430 Ilya Ivashka at the St Remy Challenger.

James Ward will link up with Great Britain's Davis Cup squad having lost 10 matches in a row after suffering defeat in the first round of the St Remy Challenger.

The British number four hasn't recorded a victory since reaching the third round at Wimbledon, but he has still earned a place in the five-man team, which was revealed on Tuesday, to face Australia in the Davis Cup semi-finals later this month.

However, he has missed out on an opportunity to get back to winning ways after slumping to a disappointing 6-1 6-4 loss to Ilya Ivashka.

The Londoner dropped serve to the world number 430 on three occasions and the setback is likely to see him drop further down the world rankings.
