Andy Murray confirms long-term Amelie Mauresmo partnership

British number one Andy Murray announces that he intends to work with coach Amelie Mauresmo for the long term.

Andy Murray has announced that he intends to retain former world number one Amelie Mauresmo as his coach "long term".

The Frenchwoman was appointed as the world number 10's coach ahead of Queen's for the grass-court season only, but will now continue to work with him throughout next month's US Open.

However, the Scot told BBC Sport: "We've agreed to work together and I think from both sides we're willing to do what it takes to make it work long term.

"I really enjoy working with her, she's helped me a lot. She integrated well with the rest of the team. It's been a good start. Now it's about me producing the results.

"I sat down with her the day after Wimbledon, we made a plan for the next few months, in the build up to the US Open. That's the plan for now, but I plan on working with her for longer than post-US Open, for sure."

Murray split with former coach Ivan Lendl in March after two years working with the eight-time Grand Slam champion.
