Tommy Haas has admitted that he does not feel ready to retire from professional tennis.
Some pundits had questioned the German's future in the game following his victory over former world number one Roger Federer in the final of the Gerry Weber Open earlier today.
However, despite accepting that bowing out after scooping his 13th career title would be the "perfect way" to go, the 34-year-old has insisted that he hopes to play for many more years.
"If I thought about it, this would be the perfect way to say goodbye to tennis. Beating Roger, my 13th title," he told reporters. "It would be perfect. But I'm not ready mentally.
"I hope the body holds up for many years to go. I love to play."
Haas has yet to win a Grand Slam title.
