Fish pulls out of French Open

French Open organisers have confirmed that American Mardy Fish has pulled out of this year's tournament.

The world number 10, who hasn't played a competitive match since March, has opted out of the Roland Garros Grand Slam due to fatigue.

His withdrawal follows that of 2009 and 2010 runner-up Robin Soderling, who announced earlier that he would be out of action for a few months as he continues to recover from glandular fever.

Rafael Nadal is the reigning French Open champion after he beat Roger Federer in the 2011 final to claim his sixth title.
