Juan Martin del Potro: Surgery "went well"

World number eight Juan Martin del Potro says that surgery on his injured left wrist was a success.

Juan Martin del Potro has revealed that an operation to correct his left wrist injury "went well".

The current world number eight, who was forced to withdraw from the ongoing Miami Masters, is not expected to return to the court again until next year.

Posting on his official Facebook page, the 25-year-old said: "Hi everyone, here I am, still sore from the surgery. Luckily everything went well. Thank you very much for the nice messages you are sending me."

A similar injury kept the Argentine out of action for eight months back in 2010.
