Marion Bartoli hints at comeback

Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli hints that she could yet make a comeback after retiring from tennis earlier this month.

Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli has refused to rule out a comeback after retiring from tennis earlier this month.

The 28-year-old Frenchwoman made the surprise announcement that she was quitting the sport following her defeat to Simona Halep at the Cincinnati Open on August 15.

"You never know what is going to happen," Bartoli is quoted as saying by Eurosport. "It's pretty hard to say I will never come back."

Bartoli's win over Sabine Lisicki in July's Wimbledon final was the only Grand Slam triumph during her 13-year career.
