Tomas Berdych recovered after dropping a set to grab a place in the fourth round of the French Open at the expense of Benoit Paire this afternoon.
The Czech eventually sealed a 6-1 6-7(5) 6-3 6-4 victory in a four-set battle, which began in fine fashion for Berdych as he snatched an early double break and whisked to a one-set lead.
The second set was more competitive as both players lost serve and eventually forced through a tie-break, which Paire managed to clinch 7-5 on the clay surface.
Berdych bounced back in the third set, despite losing serve once, as he snatched a double break and edged in front with a 2-1 advantage at Roland Garros.
Paire tried to push the tie into a fifth and final set, but Berdych clinched two early break points, and while the Czech's competitor managed to break back, it wasn't enough to knock the 29-year-old off his stride.
