Former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic has been knocked out of this year's tournament in the third round by Sara Errani.
The 13th seed, who was victorious at Roland Garros in 2008, stormed through the opening set before Errani fought back to win the match 1-6 7-5 6-3.
Errani showed in the final two sets just why she is regarded as a clay court specialist, dominating the long rallies and winning several crucial points at the net.
The Italian will play either Agnieska Radwanska or Svetlana Kuznetsova in the last 16.
