Simona Halep sails into round four of the French Open thanks to a comfortable 6-3 6-0 victory over Spain's Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor.

Simona Halep has marched into the fourth round of the French Open thanks to a comfortable straight-sets victory over Spain's Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor.

The fourth seed broke serve to open up a 4-2 lead in the opening set before breaking again to see it out 6-3.

The Romanian saved four break points at the start of the second, but she was dominant after that as she sealed the win 6-0 with just over an hour on the clock.

Halep's opponent in the next round will be American 15th seed Sloane Stephens following her win over Russia's Ekaterina Makarova.
