Kyle Edmund pulls out of French Open

Kyle Edmund has withdrawn from the French Open ahead of his second-round encounter with Nick Kyrgios tomorrow.

The British number four came through in five sets against home favourite Stephane Robert in the first round on Monday, but is struggling with a stomach muscle problem.

He was due to play 29th-seed Kyrgios tomorrow and if he had won would have gone through to a likely third-round clash against fellow Brit Andy Murray.

However, he has decided to not risk further injury ahead of the upcoming grass-court season and is confident of being fit for the AEGON Championships at Queen's.
