Ferrer happy with 'tough' Murray win

David Ferrer has expressed his delight after beating Andy Murray to reach the semi-finals of the French Open.

The Spaniard saw off the Brit in four sets on Wednesday to reach the last four of the tournament for the first time in his career.

"It was a very tough match and I'm happy," he told reporters. "It was in important moments that I played better than him."

Ferrer will now face fellow countryman and six-time winner Rafael Nadal for a place in Sunday's final.

"[Nadal] is the best player on clay courts in history and I will have to fight and play my best tennis to beat him," he added.

Novak Djokovic will take on Roger Federer in the other semi-final.
