Azarenka withdraws from French Open

World number five Victoria Azarenka has pulled out of the upcoming French Open as she recovers from injury.

The 24-year-old has recently missed tournaments in Doha, Miami, Madrid and Rome due to a foot problem that she suffered at the start of the year.

The two-time Australian Open champion tweeted: "Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in Roland Garros this year. Working hard on my recovery and getting back on court."

The French Open gets underway in Paris on Saturday.
