Danish eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki battles past Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer to reach the third round of the women's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.

Danish eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki has battled past Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer to reach the third round of the women's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.

Wozniacki took the opening set 6-4 before Wickmayer stormed the second 6-3.

The former world number one, who has now won all six of her matches against the Belgian, claimed the third set 6-3.

Wozniacki's triumph has set up a third-round encounter with Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova.
