Czech Republic win Davis Cup with victory over Spain

Czechs beat Spain to win Davis Cup

The Czech Republic have won the Davis Cup with a dramatic 3-2 triumph over defending champions Spain in Prague.

The Czechs started Sunday 2-1 ahead, but David Ferrer's 6-2 6-3 7-5 victory over Tomas Berdych levelled the tie.

However, Radek Stepanek pulled off a surprise triumph against Nicolas Almagro to see his country over the line.

Stepanek, who turns 34 later this month, saw off the world number 11 6-4 7-6(0) 3-6 6-3 as the Czechs got their hands on the trophy for the first time since 1980.
