Murray in GB team for Davis Cup semi-final

Andy Murray has been named in Great Britain's team for next week's Davis Cup semi-final against Argentina in Glasgow.

The three-time Grand Slam champion sat out the quarter-final win over Serbia earlier this summer following his triumph at Wimbledon.

The Scotsman remains in contention for the US Open title after reaching the quarter-finals last night, so his participation in the Davis Cup could change again depending on his results at Flushing Meadows.

As it stands, Murray is included in Leon Smith's five-man team alongside Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund, who reached the third and fourth rounds of the US Open respectively.

Doubles star Jamie Murray has also been selected, while Dom Inglot completes the team, who were crowned champions for the first time since 1936 last year.

Meanwhile, Juan Martin del Potro, who lost to Murray in the Olympic final in Rio, has been included in the Argentina team.

The winner will play Croatia or France in the final.
