Kei Nishikori edges past James Blake

Kei Nishikori has booked his place in the third round of the Cincinnati Open with a three-set victory over American James Blake.

The 14th seed was brushed aside 6-2 in the opening set but got himself back on terms by taking the second 6-4.

The Japanese then broke twice on his way to winning the decider 6-4.

Next up for Nishikori is an encounter with either fourth seed David Ferrer or Stanislas Wawrinka.
