Tomas Haas overcomes Marcel Grannollers-Pujol

Tommy Haas has booked his spot in the second round of the Cincinnati Open following a 6-4 6-1 win over Marcel Granollers Pujol.

Neither player could be separated in the early stages of the opening set, but it was Haas that secured the decisive break at 4-5, allowing the German to move into a one-set lead.

Haas secured his second break of the match early in the second, holding serve before moving 3-0 ahead against his Spanish opponent.

Another break followed moments later as Haas moved 4-0 ahead, eventually booking his spot in the next round with a 6-1 score.
