Tomas Berdych topples Roger Federer in Cincinnati Open

Roger Federer has been knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open after a straight sets defeat to Tomas Berdych.

The world number three did not conjure a break point on the Czech's serve in the entire match, and lost the first set 6-2.

The Swiss fought back in the second but came undone in the tie break, which the world number nine won 7-3.

Berdych will face either Novak Djokovic or Gael Monfils in the semi-finals.
